How we pick

1. Every list is sourced and dated. We take each product’s full ingredient list (INCI) from the brand’s own product page or from Open Beauty Facts (ODbL), and record the page and the date.
2. Code checks 12 ingredient families. Fragrance, Essential oils, Labelled fragrance allergens, Drying alcohol, Sulfates, Silicones, Parabens, MI / MCI, Formaldehyde releasers, Mineral oil & petrolatum, Lanolin, Chemical UV filters.
3. A need is a set of rules. “Eczema-prone skin”, for example, means free of fragrance, essential oils, the labelled fragrance allergens, drying alcohol, MI/MCI and formaldehyde releasers, with no menthol or camphor.
4. Only products that pass every rule make a guide. They are ranked by how many of the helpful ingredients for that need they contain, with at most two per brand.
5. Every product is matched to its Amazon listing in code, by brand and name; regional pages show only products listed in that store, and Amazon photos refresh daily.
6. Bez edits every page; health pages are sourced to at least two recognized authorities (AAD, BAD, DermNet, NHS, NIH, peer-reviewed research) and dated.

What a free-from badge means

“Fragrance-free” on our pages means no parfum, fragrance or aroma appears on the product’s full ingredient list. It is a fact about the list, not a promise about your skin: patch test anything new, and match the list to your pack, since brands reformulate.
